Frills, Thrills and Fulfilling Dreams: The Making of a Mom’s Children’s Brand

Hello fellow moms and readers,

I’m excited to share with you a journey that’s very close to my heart—a story about motherhood, dreams, and the little steps we take toward big aspirations. My name is Bhawya, and this is how I started my own children’s clothing brand, inspired by my beautiful daughter, Bhanvi, and driven by a desire to make a difference in the world she will grow up in.

When Bhanvi was born, like every parent, I found myself imagining all the possibilities that lay ahead for her. I watched her every day—her first smile, her first steps, her growing curiosity about the world. As she grew, so did my realization that I wanted to do something that would not only make her proud but also show her the power of following one’s dreams, no matter how daunting.

The idea came to me one afternoon as I was sorting through Bhanvi’s clothes that she had quickly outgrown. It struck me how clothing is not just about style or function; it’s about expression and moments. Each outfit she wore held memories, and I wondered how amazing it would be to create garments that could make other children and parents feel just as special.

That’s when I decided to start “Fairy Frills,” a boutique brand focusing on clothes for little girls. The vision was clear: to design clothes that are playful, inspiring, and imbued with the joy and innocence of childhood. I wanted each piece to reflect qualities I hope to instill in Bhanvi—confidence, joy, and the courage to explore.

The road to launching “Fairy Frills” wasn’t straightforward. I juggled being a full-time mom with being a full-time entrepreneur—nights spent sketching designs after Bhanvi went to bed, and days filled with fabric sourcing and learning everything I could about running a business. There were moments of doubt and exhaustion, but the thought of giving up never crossed my mind.

I remember the day I completed our first collection; holding the finished pieces in my hands, I felt an overwhelming sense of accomplishment and excitement. Launching the brand was not just about business growth; it was about growing as a person and a mother. You can follow our journey on Instagram.

Sharing my story here, I want to say to all the moms out there that our dreams don’t have to be sidelined as we raise our children. They can coexist, and indeed, they can flourish together. Starting “Fairy Frills” has taught me that motherhood is not just about guiding your children as they grow—it’s also about showing them what they can achieve when they believe in their dreams.

I hope my story inspires you, as much as Bhanvi inspires me every day. To all the moms reading this: remember, it’s never too late to chase your dreams. You’re not just raising the future; you’re modeling it.

Thanks
Bhawya
