It’s me, Rashi Saxena, the founder and creative mind behind Aromas by Deep – a candle and chocolate business born out of my passion for crafting beautiful, fragrant candles. I’m beyond excited to share my journey with you all. So grab a cup of tea, cozy up, and let me take you through my inspirational journey from being a hotelier to becoming a candlepreneur.
It all started back when I was working in a 5-star hotel, surrounded by the glitz and glamour of the hospitality industry. Part of my job involved decorating event spaces with candles for private parties and functions. But amidst the hustle and bustle, I found solace in something unexpected – candles. I fell in love with the whole process of melting wax, mixing in exquisite fragrances, and carefully pouring each candle. I’d spend hours infusing personalized touches and heartfelt messages into every piece.
One incident really struck a chord with me though. During one event setup, I witnessed some guests carelessly mishandling the decorative candles, leaving wax spilled everywhere. It broke my heart to see my hard work disrespected like that. But rather than feeling defeated, it sparked an idea – why not start my own candle business where I could share my creativity with others who truly appreciated it?

It was during this time that the seed of entrepreneurship was planted in my heart. I saw how candles could transform a space, adding warmth and ambiance to any occasion. With the encouragement of my family and friends, I decided to take the entrepreneurial plunge. I wanted to create a brand that celebrated the art of candle-making while allowing me to be my own boss. Thus, Aromas by Deep was born!
But like any journey worth embarking on, mine was filled with challenges. As a new business owner, I faced numerous challenges daily – attracting regular customers, convincing retailers about the potential of the candle market, feeling demotivated when people would balk at my prices during exhibitions. But I didn’t give up.
I started offering free samples, setting up meetings with retailers to showcase my quality products, and leveraging the power of Instagram to display my candles while connecting with customers directly. The promotions and discounts I ran helped gain visibility and traction.
One of my greatest tools in this journey has been Instagram. This platform has been a game-changer, allowing me to showcase my products, connect with customers, and share promotions and discounts effortlessly. Through Instagram, I’ve been able to reach a wider audience and grow my business in ways I never imagined possible.
Slowly but surely, word about Aromas by Deep’s unique, handcrafted candles spread through Agra and beyond. Today, I stand proud as the owner of a thriving candle and chocolate business in the city of the Taj Mahal itself!
But beyond the candles and chocolates, my story is about empowerment. As an entrepreneur, I’ve learned that anything is possible when you follow your passions and stay true to yourself. Whether it’s baking, cooking, or reading, my hobbies have always been a source of inspiration and creativity.
So to all the incredible women out there, whether you’re a stay-at-home mom or a career woman itching for a change, I want you to know that you have the power to chase your dreams. Don’t let fear hold you back. Take that first step, and who knows where it might lead?
