Hello, everyone! I’m Archie, the founder of Curlakari (@curl_a_kari on Instagram), a small business that showcases my unique embroidery art on dry leaves. My journey with Curlakari has been nothing short of a dream come true.
During the lockdown period, I found solace in my love for art and craft, and that’s when I started Curlakari as an artist page. As someone who has been suffering from migraines for the past seven years, art has been a form of therapy for me, helping me cope with the challenges that come with this condition.

I’m a self-taught embroidery artist, and my passion lies in creating beautiful threadwork on nature’s canvas – dry leaves. With each stitch, I weave a tapestry of vibrant colors and intricate patterns, transforming these fragile leaves into remarkable works of art.
What started as a hobby, making gifts for my close ones, soon turned into something more. People who weren’t even my friends started requesting my artworks, but they wanted them for free. It was then that my best friend’s wise words resonated with me: “If you’re good at something, you should never do it for free.” It was then that I realized the value of my art and the importance of pursuing my passion as more than just a pastime.
Inspired by her advice, on International Women’s Day last year, I took the leap and officially launched my small business, @curl_a_kari, on Instagram. This year marks the one-year anniversary of my venture, and it’s been a remarkable journey so far.
Juggling coaching, university studies, and managing my small business has been quite challenging, but my love for embroidery is unstoppable. Instagram has played a crucial role in helping me reach a wider audience, and I’m grateful for the platform’s ability to connect me with people who appreciate my innovative art.
While embroidery is a common craft, embroidery on dry leaves is a unique and innovative approach that sets my work apart. Recently, I was featured in the Dainik Bhaskar Newspaper as an Innovative Artist, a recognition that felt like a manifestation of my aspirations and hard work.
My goal with Curlakari is simple – to be known and appreciated for my artwork, not just for myself but for the innovative art form that I’m passionate about. There’s a common misconception that handmade products are expensive, but what people often fail to understand is the immense effort, love, and care that goes into crafting each piece.
With the unwavering support of my mother and close friends, I’ve already organized three successful pop-up stalls for Curlakari, showcasing my creations to a wider audience and inspire them to pursue their passions fearlessly. While the journey hasn’t been easy, my passion for embroidery and the joy it brings me keep me going.
My story is a testament to the power of perseverance, resilience, and the transformative nature of art. It reminds me, and hopefully others, that even in the face of adversity, our dreams can blossom into reality if we nurture them with unwavering dedication and courage.
So, if you’re seeking inspiration, if you’re yearning to turn your passion into something tangible, I invite you all to follow my journey on Instagram (@curl_a_kari) and support my endeavor. Immerse yourself in the beauty of my creations, and let my story ignite a spark within you, encouraging you to embrace your unique talents and embark on a path that celebrates the fusion of art, innovation, and the indomitable spirit of the human soul. Together, we can celebrate the power of art, innovation, and the courage to turn one’s passion into a successful venture.
