Motherhood or Mental-hood

When I got pregnant or probably when I was planning for pregnancy I was always told,

Wait until you smell your little one

Wait until you kiss her tiny hand

Wait until you see her smiling at you

Wait until you see your husband change after her birth

Wait until you nuzzle your nose against hers

Wait until you breastfeed her and create a bond with her

Though all these moments are to die for and there can be no better feeling than giving birth to a new life but your life is kind of over after having a kid. I wish someone had told me,

Wait until you have to wake up every hour to feed the baby

Wait until you have no social life

Wait until the LO will be crying her head off and you won’t be able to figure out why

Wait until you won’t get time to even shower

Wait until you will be popped over all the time

Wait until there will be months when you won’t get to go to the salon

Wait until you will have no social or personal life

Wait until the only thing you will pray for is 4 hours of sound sleep

I’m not here to scare anybody, but I wish someone had shown me the real picture of how motherhood looks like. Social media just projects the la la world and forgets to prepare the new mothers for the reality they are getting into.

I don’t want to sound negative but I feel you should be head strong before you plan your baby because motherhood is no easy job. Ladies plan your family when you are ready and not when people want you to be pregnant.
