Hi there! My name is Charulatha N, and I’m a 21-year-old postgraduate student from Bangalore, Karnataka. I want to start by thanking you for taking the time to read my story.
It was February 1st, 2024 (just a month ago), when I launched my small business venture, a dream I had been nurturing since I was just 18 years old. You see, I have this burning desire within me to achieve success in life, no matter how big or small. And this little endeavor of mine is the first step toward realizing that dream. As the saying goes, “Tiny steps, big love.”
My journey hasn’t been an easy one. During my first year of B.Com, our family faced significant financial challenges in the wake of the pandemic. It was then that I made a firm decision to do something about our situation. While continuing my studies, I began learning the ropes of running a business, honing my crafting skills, and exploring unique gift ideas that could set my venture apart. It took me over a year and a half to finally get my resin business off the ground, but I never gave up. The process of creating each piece with my own hands, pouring my heart and soul into every design, was therapeutic and fulfilling.

And that’s because I had the unwavering support of my mother, my Amma. She believed in me when others didn’t, and her belief gave me the strength to keep going. With her backing, I was able to invest in my small business, and although the earnings may not be in the thousands yet, I’m making hundreds – enough to take care of my needs without burdening my parents financially.

Looking ahead, I’m determined to take my business to new heights. Every penny I earn is a testament to my hard work, perseverance, and the countless hours spent perfecting each creation. It fills me with immense pride and joy to know that my handmade pieces are bringing happiness and smiles to people’s faces.
To all the women and mothers out there who’ve been yearning to start something of their own, be it a business or a passion project, my message to you is this: Don’t let anything hold you back. If I could do it while juggling studies and financial constraints, so can you. Believe in yourself, take that first step, and have faith that tiny steps today will lead to giant leaps tomorrow.
Before I sign off, I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to those who supported me along the way, especially my Amma, whose belief in me and my creative abilities was unwavering.
