Hello, beautiful souls! I’m Mahitha IG, the heart and soul behind ‘Maahimentions,’ a mindful space where I’m known as Maahi, which means LOVE. Today, I am truly honoured and delighted to speak about what I do and why I do it in a hope that my story will inspire and empower you on your own journey of self-discovery and growth.
Before I begin, let me explain what my page is all about. I created ‘Maahimentions’ because I needed a safe haven to vent, share my experiences, and offer my knowledge and expertise in coping with life’s challenges during a time when I wasn’t in my best mental state. Even as I talked about self-love, communication, and mindset adjustments, I felt lost and searching for something deeper.
It wasn’t until 2022 that I truly found myself and realized that so many people struggle with seemingly small but significant problems. We all need a judgment-free space where we can freely express our feelings and find solace in one another’s company. I’m humbled to share that over 7,000 individuals have already opened up and shared their stories on my page, shedding the burdens they once carried. I’m pleased to share the identity bestowed upon me and my work by the individuals on my page.

My Story
My story is one of resilience and self-acceptance. As a highly sensitive person, I was diagnosed with High Functional Anxiety in 2019, and my life came to a standstill. I went into hibernation, merely surviving, until I realized that IT IS OKAY NOT TO FEEL OKAY EVERY SINGLE DAY. I enrolled in over 1,000 courses, searching for that ray of hope that would guide me back to normalcy, but the answer, as you all know, can never be found outside when you cannot see the light within.
Life always has its own plans when you have your own, and mine took a turn when I attended world-class events and heard motivational words that resonated with me and my family, who had been my strongest support system throughout my struggles. Even though they were aware of my struggles, they continued to support me in my efforts to be normal and pursue my happiness. After hearing about other people and their work through social media and getting advice from loved ones, I created a page on the platform.
My Support System
In India, or any other country, the support and presence of our close ones in our lives is most important when we are not in a good mental state, and my anxiety has always been viewed positively, and I have always received the comfort of openly sharing it with my loved ones, who have never made me feel low or bad about it.
We are now a community of over 1300 people on Instagram, and I am glad to say that I have connected with each and every one of them by voice note/message, and we are growing every day. I am truly appreciative of the work I am doing. My purpose is to share my struggles and imperfections with the intent to create a safe space for Mental Well-Being, and I’m sending out an open invitation to check out my profile here whenever you want to talk/share or vent. I’m all ears.
Self-expression is a powerful tool for improving mental health and well-being. Finding unique ways to share your feelings, thoughts, or ideas through painting, writing, dance, yoga, or any other form of art can be incredibly therapeutic. Self-talk can also alleviate anxiety following stressful situations.
Additional techniques to improve your mental well-being include:
- Establishing social connections to remind ourselves that we are not alone
- Getting enough sleep
- Practicing relaxation techniques, such as conscious breathing
- Setting goals at your own pace
- Practicing gratitude
- Focusing on yourself and your needs
- Having clear boundaries to avoid triggers and stay safe
- Staying hydrated
- Connecting with loved ones and checking on their well-being
