As a child, art and craft were more than just hobbies for me; they were a genetic blessing passed down through generations. Little did I know then that this inherent talent would one day blossom into Shreya’s Handikraft Tales, a venture that not only allows me to pursue my passion but also contributes to preserving our rich cultural heritage.
Established in 2017, Shreya’s Handikraft Tales was born out of a desire to curate personalized, handmade jewelry pieces that reflect the preferences and emotions of our clients. With a keen eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, we strive to create unique, lightweight pieces that allow our clients to stand out with their individual style.
Like many women, I initially took the conventional path, pursuing a career that didn’t quite align with my true passions. However, after my marriage, I knew it was time to reignite that spark within me. I wanted to work, so I thought of doing something in handcrafted arts, as it was my passion. I was sure that I could give my best while also creating an identity for myself.

With the unwavering support of my family and a few close friends, I embarked on this entrepreneurial journey, fueled by my love for handcrafted art. The early days were not without their challenges. As a self-motivated entrepreneur, I lacked knowledge about the right processes to follow, often resulting in scattered efforts and less-than-desirable results. Additionally, managing multiple segments, including a line of Rajasthani crafts, proved overwhelming, and I had to make the difficult decision to streamline my focus. Dealing with vendors from a distance was also a significant pain point, and at times, my own creations took a backseat due to these compounding factors.
Through it all, one constant remained: my passion for creating handmade jewelry pieces. After the COVID-19 pandemic, I made the conscious choice to dedicate my efforts solely to this core aspect of my business, and it has been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made.
Apart from my family, I found invaluable support from various social media communities, whose members not only encouraged me but also helped me reach my prospective clients through various mediums, showcasing my work effectively. Instagram, in particular, proved to be a game-changer, allowing me to connect with my target audience and present my creations in a way that helped build trust and credibility with clients without hesitation.
Looking back on my journey, I can confidently say that perseverance and a willingness to learn from my failures have been instrumental in my growth. My biggest learning over the past seven years has been to continue with utmost honesty and passion for the craft, and people will find and understand your creations.
To all the women out there, especially mothers, who have put their dreams on hold: it’s never too late to reignite that spark within you. Whether it’s a hobby, a skill, or a lifelong passion, there’s always an opportunity to turn it into something more. Believe in yourself, surround yourself with a supportive network, and don’t be afraid to take calculated risks.
